Local Community Partnerships

Investing in your community, for today and tomorrow.

Building American clean energy is not a task for any one company, project, or region. It’s a collective effort that connects communities across the U.S. with renewable energy. It’s a process built on respectful partnerships and solidified with real investment in local communities.

For Ørsted, building a clean energy project means becoming a part of your neighborhood. We share in your schools, libraries, community centers, museums, emergency services, infrastructure, businesses, and natural ecosystems. We invest in your community for the long-term, boosting your economy, supporting education, and conserving the local environment.

A good neighbor and long-term partner

When Ørsted builds land-based windsolar farms, and battery storage facilities, we make a long-term commitment to the communities that stand nearby. We invest locally, building partnerships and contributing to schools, charities, libraries, and emergency services throughout the lifetime of our projects. We aim to be good neighbors, working closely with landowners, listening to community members, and preserving the environment around our projects and your home.

Conserving biodiversity for local communities

Every community deserves to be surrounded by clean air, well-managed land, and healthy natural ecosystems. Ørsted’s unique biodiversity projects are playing a key role in preserving and even enhancing ecosystems, including blackland prairies, coastal prairies, wetlands, and more.

Boosting local business and educational programs

Offshore wind may be a nascent industry, but the U.S. is already learning how much it can contribute to local schools, businesses, and communities. All along the East Coast, Ørsted is partnering with local communities to boost minority-owned, woman-owned, and small businesses, bringing them into the offshore wind supply chain. We’re funding afterschool programs, museums, aquariums, and more, giving the next generation a good education in STEM subjects, clean energy, and offshore wind.
