Solar power and storage

Muscle Shoals Solar, located in Colbert County, Alabama, generates 227 megawatts of solar power—enough to power 38,000 homes annually. The project includes a power purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority and provides $1.5 million in landowner payments and property taxes for local communities annually. 

Eleven Mile Solar is a co-located solar and storage project in Pinal County, Arizona. The solar project generates 300 MW of power – enough to power over 60,000 homes annually, while the 300 MW / 1200 MWh storage project can store power for up to four hours each day. The project powers Meta’s data center and will pay nearly $80 million in property tax revenue to local jurisdictions over the life of the project.

Mockingbird Solar, located in Lamar County, Texas, generates 468 megawatts of solar power—enough to power nearly 83,000 homes annually. The project includes corporate power purchase agreements with DSM, Covestro, Bloomberg, and UnitedHealth Group. As a part of developing Mockingbird Solar, Ørsted  donated almost 1,000 acres of the Smiley-Woodfin Native Prairie Grassland adjacent to the Mockingbird Solar Center to The Nature Conservancy to preserve in perpetuity. Mockingbird Solar provides $5 million in landowner payments and property taxes for local communities annually. 

Old 300 Solar Center, located in Fort Bend County, Texas, generates 430 MW of solar power – enough to power nearly 75,000 homes annually. A recently added 250 MW BESS project provides up to 500 MWh of dispatchable power to one of the fastest-growing power markets in the country and helps stabilize the ERCOT grid.

Permian Energy Center, located in Andrews County, Texas, generates 420 megawatts of solar power—enough to power 84,000 homes. The project includes a corporate power purchase agreement with Exxon Mobil and provides approximately $4 million in landowner payments and property tax payments to the local community annually. 

Sparta Solar – part of the Helena Energy Center, a co-located wind and solar project – is located in Bee County, Texas. The combined project generates 268.2 megawatts of onshore wind power and 250 megawatts of solar power—enough to power 128,000 homes annually. Helena Energy Center provides over $6.9 million in landowner payments and property taxes for local communities annually. Sparta Solar includes corporate power purchase agreements with Target, PepsiCo, and Johnson & Johnson.
