Cloud Data Platform Engineer

You’ll be part of a global team where you, together with your colleagues, will deliver value to the business across an IT organisation with more than 1000 employees. You’ll be a central part of our team evolving, developing, and maintaining the Data Lake cloud infrastructure of the Ørsted Data Ecosystem.
The Ørsted Data Ecosystem is a modern cloud-based data platform providing technology that supports the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all Ørsted’ s business units, using batch or streaming patterns and making it available to analysts, data scientists, and machine learning models. When working with our backlog, we aim to empower people to make decisions, we promote collaboration between people and teams, and we provide work hour flexibility.
You’ll play an important role in:
· continuously improving, monitoring, maintaining, and extending the individual elements of the Data Ecosystem infrastructure in the cloud, e.g., cloud storage, file event queues, and databases, etc.
· ensuring that the Data Ecosystem is secure, stable, cost effective, scalable and help our users with guidance to use the services optimally
· collaborating with architects to set guidelines and standards for the Data Ecosystem
· troubleshooting tickets and incidents reported by data engineers relating to the platform and helping them succeed with their deliveries
· build and maintain pipelines that can provision technical products to those using Infrastructure as Code.
To succeed in the role, you:
· enjoy collaborating on features and user stories with your colleagues in the team, and can show transparency with your work through documenting and communicating it clearly, both in meetings, comments, chats, and pull requests
· have experience with automation, version control, DevOps, IaC and CI/CD (e.g., using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform)
· have experience using Kubernetes, Docker, relational databases (modelling, performance tuning) and private networking as well as deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud resources (e.g., on Azure or AWS) is considered a huge plus
· have experience in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, and Azure CLI) and it is a big plus also having experience with software development (e.g., using Python, Java or C#)
· have good understanding of Data Engineering practices such as data analytics, data processing tools, ETL, ELT etc.
