Building an American industry – our journey in the U.S.

Our story begins in 2015, when Ørsted established its offshore wind business in the U.S. market.

Since then, we’ve expanded our clean energy portfolio across 14 U.S. states, stimulating almost $2 billion of investment into supply chain and infrastructure to support our portfolio of onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, storage, green hydrogen and efuels projects across the country.

We’ve already made a big impact on the U.S. energy market – creating jobs, developing a domestic supply chain, investing in communities, and deploying technologies to strengthen the American economy and energy independence.

We’re currently on track to deliver clean power to 3.5 million American homes within our existing portfolio of projects.

In Texas alone, we are developing 1.2GW of onshore wind and solar to power the world’s largest green hydrogen and e-methanol plant by the middle of the decade.

At Ørsted, we’re on a journey to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.
